Creating Jobs and Boosting Central Washington’s Economy

The number one focus of this Congress must be creating jobs and getting our economy back on track.

From my time as a small business owner, I understand the hard work it takes to succeed and create jobs. And, I know that the bigger government, higher spending and new taxes being pushed by President Obama and his liberals who control most of Washington DC are not the way to get it done.

There are better solutions.

Congress must stop tax increases that hurt hardworking Americans, and instead institute common sense low tax policies that allow small businesses to grow.

Congress must stop wasteful Washington, DC spending, pass a Balanced Budget Amendment and return to the fiscal discipline that economic experts say is needed for a healthy economy.

Congress must repeal the trillion dollar government takeover of health care that places new mandates, fines and penalties on small businesses.

I voted against the cap-and-trade national energy tax – and as the Chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee I’m pushing an all-of-the above American energy plan that protects our dams, keeps gas and diesel prices low and promotes all energy jobs.

And, we must promote no-cost job creation policies – like opening new markets and leveling the playing field for our agriculture economy.
