Protecting the American people from foreign enemies is the first responsibility of the federal government. It’s the very reason the federal government was established.
Our military is the finest in the world – and our troops deserve the full support and resources needed to protect themselves and America.
Our goal must be to ensure a stability and security in Iraq and Afghanistan and then bring our troops home as soon as safely possible. Sudden pullouts or cutting off funding are the wrong approach and very dangerous to our troops.
Those who attacked our nation and seek to destroy the freedoms and liberties that we cherish have proven themselves relentless. We must be careful not to lapse into a mindset that doubts or diminishes the threat posed by terrorists plotting against our nation.
